Review on Horizon RCT 7.6 Treadmill.

I thought I would leave the review on the Horizon RCT 7.6 Treadmill for three months after I have purchased the gym equipment. This would give me time to build up an objective view of the Horizon 7.6 Treadmill. The equipment purchased was an Oxford 2 rowing machine, a Horizon Fitness Cross Trainer, a Weirder Multi Gym and a Horizon RCT 7.6 Treadmill.

Initially I was using the Cross Trainer more than the Treadmill, but having used the equipment for 1 hour every day, 5 days a week, I now prefer to use a mixture of the rowing machine and the treadmill for my daily workout. Having used professional Gym equipment for a number of months prior to my own purchase, I am please with all my purchases, although the Horizon RCT 7.6 Treadmill is my favorite item due to the higher level of calories that I use on a time against effort basis.

The Treadmill has a number of standard settings which are easy to get the hang of. The display is clear and well presented with ample speed and incline adjustments. Speed is adjustable in 0.1 mile increments up to a maximum of 12 mph, and the incline is adjustable in 0.5 degree changes, up to 12 degrees. Custom programmes are also available.

It takes a minimum of two people to unload the machine (I can highly recommend the cost effective two person assisted delivery option provided by Connection Fitness). I found it easy to assemble (ideally with two people) and the folding treadmill function can save space when not in use, although I wouldn't recommend this machine if you need to move the bulk of the machine on a frequent basis. Adjustment of the pre-tensioned running belt is easy, as there was a minor amount of slippage on the initial running operation.

Adequate shock absorption is provided by a "gel" cushion which provides a comfortable running platform. The above average width of the running platform is also a key point when viewing machines in this price range. Customizable running programmes are easy to set up to tailor training programmes to suit individual requirements, when the "standard" options become limited. The emergency off switch and handle bar heart rate grips are nice touches, but I prefer a chest strap with suitable wristwatch a better personal choice (have to say the inbuilt heart monitor on the Horizon Fitness Cross Trainer is excellent though).

The only minor niggles that the RCT. 7.6 Treadmill has, is squishy buttons that can get stuck occasionally and a lack of "auto standby power" feature as the display module is on all the time and needs to be turned off at the main off switch to save electricity. Running motor power and all other items appear to be well made and more than capable of the tasks in hand. In summary a well made and good value treadmill that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

An absolutely fabulous machine that has taken a proud place in our home gym. It looks amazing and functions perfectly and Connection Fitness were easy to deal with and provided great product info prior to purchase making our decision to buy much more straight forward.
