Polar
Polar
Polar have been producing equipment to help you monitor your body's responses in some way, shape or form for over thirty years now. Polar products are rooted in their ability to let you 'listen to your body' - as their slogan goes. Effective physical training requires you to record what your body is doing and adapt in order to ensure progress. Polar is now operative in over 35,000 retail outlets across more than 80 countries - a testament to its success.
Innovative Technology
Starting with the simple battery operated fingertip pulse meter in 1977, the Polar Company has since expanded and improved to make such innovations as heart rate analysis software for the ever-developing computer age. Coded transmission chest straps were introduced in the nineties, eliminating interference from other devices. By the 2000s, sport-specific designs were being implemented - cycling uplinks, team sports monitors and running monitors that measure cadence and stride length.
Research & the Environment
Polar is a company that constantly strives to better itself, and this is evident through the copious amount of research that it undertakes and the care and respect it aims to deliver to the environment too. Polar encourages suggestions from readers and consumers to help them improve their products too. All of their operations are strictly controlled and monitored from development through manufacturing and to distribution. This is to minimise scrap and waste, and to ensure that all products are made from safe materials.
