Gold's Gym Weight Plates & Sets

Standard Weights and Olympic Weights are the same price at Connection Fitness, with the main difference being the size of the hole in the middle of the Weight Plate. Standard Weights have a 1 inch hole and Olympic Plates have a 2 inch hole.

Standard weight sets therefore come with a different bar that has ends which are also 1 inch in diameter, whereas Olympic Bars have 2 inch ends. The bar that you grip in the middle is the same size diameter in both Standard and Olympic, the size of the Weight Bearing ends is what differs, to accommodate the 2 differing hole sizes.

Gold's Gym Olympic Weight Sets

The Gold's Gym Olympic Weight Sets currently come in 100kg and 140kg Sizes. These sets are broken down into several size weight plates, including, 1.25kg, 2.5kg, 5kg, 10kg, 15kg and 20kg. The Gold's Gym Olympic Weight sets feature the Tri Grip Design which is very popular with Connection Fitness customers. It is much easier to change and move plates that have a grip feature like the Gold's Gym Olympic Weight Plates. Olympic Weight Sets can be combined with our selection of Olympic Weight Benches and other products such as Olympic Curl Bars.

Gold's Gym Standard Weight Sets

Gold's Gym Standard Weight Sets come in 50kg, 80kg, 100kg and 120kg sizes. These sets are made up of different Weight Plates such as 1.25kg, 2.5kg, 5kg, 10kg and 15kg plates. Like the Olympic Weights, the Gold's Gym Standard Weights also feature a Tri-Grip Design for safe and simple movement. Some customers also use the Tri Grip design to perform other Weight Training exercises. Gold's Gym Standard Weight Sets have spin lock straight bars and also include free dumbbell handles. This means you can use the Weight Plates on both the 6ft Straight Bar and the Dumbbell handles. This gives you a much larger range of exercises to perform, thanks to the versatility of training with Dumbbells. Gold's Gym Standard Weight Sets can be combined with any of our Weight Benches, both Standard and Olympic, as the Olympic Benches always have sleeves that can be removed for use with Standard Weight Plates.
